OK, I have stated several times that I didn't intend for this to be a show car, I also didn't intend to build a race car. But, I figured if I was going to build an engine with horsepower, why not have some fun with it? I have taken the car to the Woodburn dragstrip a few times now; In 2007 I got a baseline on the engine by racing with stock tires right after the rebuilt engine's brake in period. Then in April 2008 I raced it again after mounting better tires. The car was set up with 2.73:1 rear axle gears and no posi, so those times may not impress anyone. In 2009 I installed 3.73:1 gears and an Eaton Posi. My times improved a lot, but I'll eventually have to get drag slicks for better traction. My goal is to end up with a 12-13 second quarter mile drag racer that is still drivable on the street.
